Khizra Foundation

Khizra Foundation was formed in 2010 as an initiative to tackle the lack of representation of the Muslim community in the heritage sector. We aim to support and empower the many generations of Muslims living in the UK to, build heritage-based roots and create channels of communication, expression of their identity and celebration of their contribution to society. The Charities Commission’s Small Charity Constitution governs the group’s day-to-day activities.

Aims of Khizra Foundation

  • To educate and empower the Muslim community in the importance of creating tangible connections between their Muslim heritage and the representation of their identity in the wider society.
  • To engage with a large and diverse audience with the purpose to promote understanding, awareness and learning about the everyday aspects of Muslims lives.
  • To identify, document and celebrate the contribution of Muslims in society today and in an historical context.
